The Garden Court is an american restaurant in San Francisco, California. It is listed at 2 New Montgomery St, San Francisco, CA 94105, which places it among the local businesses of San Francisco that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Francisco is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Visited The Garden Court in Palace Hotel for an Afternoon tea. The place is very pretty, marble pillars, chandeliers and glass roof. Coming to the tea experience, the staff were very professional and attentive. Went there so celebrate birthday and they were sweet enough to get a small cake. The let down were the finger sandwiches which felt plain and bland. These definitely could have been much better provided the price we pay. Pastries were sweet and good enough. Choices of tea are good and taste well. Overall itβs been a good experience but very pricey.

You can't beat the settingβhaving tea under that 110-year-old stained-glass dome was amazing. That said, the food was just okay, and nothing really stood out. Service was average at best, as the staff were too busy to check on us until the end of the meal.

I had a great breakfast here. The salmon was fresh, and they offer plenty of ingredients to customize your plate. I was also impressed by the bakery items, which tasted fresh and 'healthy' compared to other places. The natural light coming from the ceiling creates a wonderful morning ambiance. My only complaint is the beverage serviceβsince there's no drink station, you have to request coffee and juice every time, which can be a little tedious during a busy morning.

My mom and I come here occasionally for breakfast, and it has quietly become one of our favorite little traditions. The space is absolutely beautiful β the glass dome ceiling and chandeliers, with the soft morning light coming in, make the whole experience feel calm and special. Itβs the kind of place where you just want to slow down, enjoy your food, and spend time together. The breakfast buffet offers a great variety with solid quality. There are fresh fruits, yogurt, and granola, along with a nice selection of pastries, croissants, and breads. They also have smoked salmon, cold cuts, and cheeses. The hot items like eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes. Are classic but well done and consistently satisfying. They even offer a few dim sum options, which is a nice touch. Itβs not about overly fancy or flashy dishes, but everything is thoughtfully prepared and reliable, which makes the experience very enjoyable. What we love most is the pace, no rush, just a relaxed morning where we can sit, eat, and talk. For us, itβs more than just breakfast; itβs a place to spend meaningful time together. We always leave feeling relaxed, and we look forward to coming back.

Min was awesome! He was so attentive! Weβve never had tea in a lovelier setting! The harp music was really lovely. They had a set of sandwiches ready ahead of time for my childβs allergies. The sweets were amazing and the savory items, although creative, a couple of them had dry bread. Not a big deal but at this price point, I expect it to be perfect. The cream was whipped cream and not clotted cream.
